Acceptable Use Policy
The 1-SERVICE LLC Acceptable Use Policy is set out below. Please read it carefully.
If you use any 1-SERVICE LLC service ('Service'), you must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. If you fail to comply, 1-SERVICE LLC may suspend or terminate your use of the Service.
The Service includes
the network and any services available on the network such as
servers, printers, wireless networking, Internet, Email, Newsgroup(s), Blog(s),
ERT, Chat, Relay, FTP(S), HTTP(S), and any and all activity that transmits
and/or receives network traffic.
The Acceptable Use Policy is designed to ensure that your use of the Service does not break any laws or interfere with the right of other 1-SERVICE LLC customers who also use the Service.
1-SERVICE LLC may change this Policy from time to time. You must check the Policy regularly to ensure that you are aware of your obligations.
1. You must not use the Service to obtain unauthorized access to any computer, system or network.
If you do not have authorization, you must not:
a. access or use any data, systems or networks;
b. probe, scan or test the vulnerability of a system or network;
c. breach any security or authentication measures for a system or network; or
d. attempt to gain access to the account of any other user.
Unlawfully accessing or damaging data in a computer is not only a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy - it is also a criminal offence punishable by fine, imprisonment or both.
2. You must not use the Service in a manner which interferes with the rights of other users or which breaches Internet etiquette.
You must not:
a. monitor data or traffic on any network or system if you do not have the authorization of the owner of the network or system to do so;
b. forge any TCP-IP packet header, any part of the header information or an email source address in an email or newsgroup posting;
c. provide false user information to 1-SERVICE LLC or other users;
d. send any amounts of unsolicited or unwanted email to individuals or individual business accounts;
e. gain access to a person's private information (or attempt to do so);
f. disobey the rules of any newsgroup, forum, email mailing list or other similar group; or
g. post the same or similar messages to one or more newsgroups (including by excessive cross-posting or multiple-posting, also known as 'spam').
3. You must not become a source of SPAM or virus infected emails. Many viruses are designed to exploit your pc’s email software. Industry Best Practice (IBP) dictates that each pc have current virus protection that scans all outgoing email and attachments. That is the best way to secure your personal pc against the virus threat of using your pc to send unsolicited emails without your consent. 1-SERVICE will not allow an account to be utilized for that purpose and may lock out your account without notification if it occurs. This is for your protection and the protection of other system users. Practice smart and safe computing; Follow IBP and have good virus protection on your pc to prevent service disruption.
4. You must not use the Service in a manner which may interfere with the technical operation of the Service or any other computer, system or network.
You must not attempt to interfere with the regular workings of 1-SERVICE LLC's systems or network connections. 1-SERVICE LLC may override any attempt by you to specify a particular traffic routing pattern.
You must not impair the ability of other people to use 1-SERVICE LLC's systems or the Internet.
You must not use the Service as a staging ground to disable other systems.
You must not use IRC bots or clonebots on the Service, whether on IRC servers controlled by 1-SERVICE LLC or other parties. An IRC bot is a program that runs and is connected to an IRC server 24 hours a day, automatically performing certain actions.
5. In using the Service, you must not break any laws or infringe the rights of other persons.
For example, you must not:
a. distribute or make available any abusive, obscene, defamatory or pornographic material;
b. distribute or make available any material which would be classified R, X or XXX (or refused classification) by the Classification Board; or
c. copy any material if you do not have the owner's permission to do so.
6. To detect and deal with breaches of the Acceptable Use Policy, 1-SERVICE LLC may take the following actions: 1-SERVICE LLC will co-operate with other Internet service providers to control unacceptable user behavior.
1-SERVICE LLC may give details of users who are suspected of breaking any laws in connection with the Service to the police and to other law enforcement agencies.
1-SERVICE LLC may implement technical mechanisms to prevent behavior which breaches this Policy (for example, which blocks multiple postings before they are forwarded to their intended recipients).
1-SERVICE LLC may exercise any rights it has under its contract with the customer whose account is being used in breach of this Policy. Such rights include the right to suspend or terminate the customer's use of the Service without notice.
1-SERVICE LLC may take any other action it deems appropriate, including taking action against offenders to recover all costs and expenses of identifying violators and any other collateral reparations.
7. Guest or Test accounts
are accounts for which the user does not pay 1-SERVICE LLC for the usage.
These accounts are at the discretion of 1-SERVICE LLC Management and subject to
termination without notification. The content and usage of Guest
or Test accounts may be monitored for metrics and statistical
analysis. All Guest or Test account usage is completely at the
discretion of 1-SERVICE LLC and may be terminated or suspended at anytime
without prior notice. To make a Guest or Test account a subscription
account, email helpdesk@1-service.com
your intent to convert the account to a "Subscription Account".
Once payment is received and the account is kept current, the account will
remain a subscription account in good standing.
8. Tenant networking that attaches to the 1-SERVICE LLC building
network is permitted within tenant space if the following criteria are met:
a. The network SSID (service set Identifier) must be hidden from
casual browse as not to broadcast the network existence to unauthorized users
b. A WEP or WPA key must be used to access the network
c. the usage does not conflict with any agreement between tenant
and landlord
A network or device found to be in violation of
these or any security requirement(s) as may be amended from time to time will
be have access disabled to building services until demonstrated to meet the
network security requirements.
